DeTours: McLaren Vale

Known for its abundance of vineyards and incredible culinary offerings, McLaren Vale – located forty minutes south of Adelaide - welcomes Stage 4 of the Men’s race. Gather a group and join us for a day of cycling, gin & farm-to-table food.

Meet at the Tour Village and board our premium air-conditioned bus as we head to your first stop – a private pen at the Start Line in Port Willunga. Hear from Race Director Stuart O’Grady and witness the start of the 135.38km leg.

Next, we make our way to the heart of McLaren Vale’s wine region for a Gin & tonic tasting flights at the beautiful Never Never Distilling Co. This will be hosted by one of their distillery founders.

By now, you will have worked up an appetite. Enjoy a 3-course meal at McLaren Vale’s much-loved Salopian Inn. The venue is located only steps away from the action, where you will have prime viewing for two pass throughs.

Our bus will then drop you back to the Tour Village in Adelaide’s CBD. Check out some of our favourite things to see and do in Adelaide and continue your evening at your own pace.
