San Remo Family Tour

San Remo Family Tour cancelled due to heat  

The San Remo Family Tour scheduled to take place from 1:30pm–3:30pm tomorrow at the Santos Tour Down Under has been cancelled due to forecast hot weather. 

The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a sunny day of 38 degrees in central Adelaide tomorrow, and in the interest of participant safety we have opted not to proceed with this event. Everyone who registered for San Remo Family Tour will automatically receive a full refund during the next week.   

It’s not the outcome we wanted – but the good news is that there will still be lots of sun-safe fun from 11am to 10pm tomorrow in the City of Adelaide Tour Village, including the chance for fans to meet and greet San Remo Ambassador and champion cyclist Anna Meares beneath the inflatable Think! Road Safety bike from 4:30pm-5pm. We would love to see you there.  
San Remo Family Ride ticket-holders are encouraged to visit the village during the Santos Tour Down Under and collect their San Remo Family Tour t-shirt, bike tag and a goodie bag to fill with giveaways from Oppy’s Ochre Trail. Items can be collected from the San Remo Family Tour registration area opposite the Garden Bar tomorrow and from the village information booth from Sunday onwards.  
The new-look City of Adelaide Tour Village features a Family Zone and offers ample shade, misting systems, food and beverages and plenty of entertainment. 

Saturday’s highlights on site include: 

Main Stage entertainment – 11am–10pm  

Dynamic Adelaide duo DJ Shep and DJ dl will bust out bopping beats on the Santos Main Stage for Oppy’s Block Party.   

BMX Freestyle Demonstrations – 12.45pm–1.05pm 

See epic tricks from some of Australia’s top BMX, Nitro Circus and X Games athletes including Josh Matthews, Jaie Toohey and Kyle Baldock. 

LEGO and Kids’ Craft – 3pm onwards 

Enjoy LEGO brick fun with award-winning builder Ben Craig, plus face painting, colouring in and soft play equipment.    

Bike Expo – 3pm–7pm 

Discover the latest technology and innovations from cycling’s biggest brands. 

Team Zone – 3pm–7pm 

International men’s and women’s teams will be showcased side by side for the first time. See mechanics at work on elite riders’ bikes. 

San Remo Pasta Sampling 4:30pm–7:30pm Try San Remo’s delicious range of pasta beneath the THINK! Road Safety bike.
